Default Playing as WRE Rebels in BI

    Hi all,

I'd like to make the WRE Rebels playable in the BI campaign. I've had success making the Romano-British playable, so I figure the process would be similar. Essentially, I plan on giving the WRE Rebels a single province to start out with, some family members, etc.

Is it any more complicated than that?

Also, I'm wondering if adding the WRE Rebels as a faction like this will affect their behavior in-game. Will rebelling WRE towns and generals still defect to the WRE Rebels as normal? Obviously, I'd like to keep that feature in the campaign. And if the WRE Rebels are eliminated, will they still re-emerge (if I'm not paying as them, obviously)?

Just looking for any quirks I should be aware of as I try to make this faction playable from the start. Thanks,

    CountMRVHS

If you don't plan to play as them, why bother making them playable?

All stays as previously iirc except that when pplaying as the Rebels, you will not be able to win the game. When you take WRE's last settlement, your cities will return to them automatically and you'll just lose. if anything else comes to mind, I'll let you know.

@Squid: Of course, I would want to play as them, but I just wanted to make sure they would behave as usual for the times when I'm playing another faction.

@Aradan: Right, I remember hearing that. Come to think of it, there's no entry for WRE/ERE Rebels in "win_conditions" ... Do you think it would be possible to simply add an entry there; something about taking 20 settlements including Rome and Augusta Treverorum? That way I could just bypass that whole problem that comes with destroying the WRE.

Congrats on the new FATW release, btw! The releases are coming out almost faster than I can play them!

Nah, it's not a win_conditions issue, it is hardocded to shadowing factions. No shadowing faction can ever win the game - once the shadowed faction loses its last settlement, it is immediatelly resurrected in place of the shadowing one.

Thx! You're one of the 30 people here that noticed! ;)
