I'm a little confused about Mount & Blade. Is it a single player game or do you log into online servers? Otherwise, how could the trial download file be so small?
In either case it looks really interesting.. will definately have to give it a go!

Interesting, I was just in the mood of reinstalling M&B but didn't know where to find an interesting mod... I'll try Legions then ;)
Thanks!

regarding mod i think it looks very interesting.
i have a suggestion. looking at the world map its shifted too mach into Atlantics imo. if it could be moved in other directions (all that ocean is useless anyway) you could give more territories to Parthia and perhaps squeeze more factions (if possible at all) like Pontus and even Armenia in?
They fighting in formation? Or are they running all over the place like the original?

Out of respect for the EB team, this is their forum and I dont want to persist dialogue by continually answering questions concerning the mod or its future here.
thanks
I had a simmilar thought myself, but I gave it a try today and I'm glad I did. At the end of the day, I wasn't expecting much for a download that size but it actually looks really nice. At first everything seemed a bit...well...cheap, but after an hour or two I was quite enjoying it (had to force myself to quit the arena and go to work, lancing people from horseback is great fun).Originally Posted by Gothic
I can only speak for the legions mod though, the vanilla game doesn't really hold any appeal to me (I can run Oblivion, Gothic 3 etc with everything maxed...'nuf said).
But yeah, as long as you don't expect too much in the way of graphics or anything, certainly an enjoyable little romp into EB's time frame, I'd reccomend it to any EB fan. keep up the good work Edward!
Go for the factions, load times don't need any work imho (unless you have a real dog of a pc I guess).Originally Posted by EdwardL

The most fun is playing as a horse archer with no crosshairs and the least amount of info and help possible on screen, it's difficult but once you get the hang of it a shot in the throat at 20m in full gallop is a thing of beauty.
Make sure to include some HA factions Edward.
Actually, while horse-archery is fun, and being the fully-armoured lancer tank just as entertaining, I recently played around with the idea of a universal cavalryman, in the spirit of Sassanian medium cavalry, armed with bow, lance and sword, heavy helmet, felt hand and foot-wear and lamellar; The mount is either a heavy hunter or a spirited courser. Having a large inventory foremost ensures that the player can assume any class on horse-back. I can be a nearly un-armoured horse-archer, all the way to a knight with re-inforced plate armour and heavy war-horse.
My character has turned into an absolute monster; He eats 200 men for breakfast, alone and without breaking a sweat. It's unbelievable how smart playing can smoothen out prospects for victory.

I just bought the game online after trying out the trial! so addicting.
