Default yet more modding questions ?

I've got several questions and answers I need to improve my skills ? modders out there plz help me out ? thanks in advance guys....

    1. I saw some where in the forums which said a general can draw his portrait from a specific folder using the trait system. how can this be done ?

    2. I know that once faction can use more than 1 body guard units. the 1st entry in the EDU is taken into account in case of family members and others can be used as recruitable generals.
ok, the thing I want to know is, is it possible to recruit a general with some given traits based on the body guard units. How ?

First answer - Please do not post Questions in the Scriptorium

    1. I think that's only Alex.exe unless anyone knows otherwise....

starting generals you can sort of rig - as they always get portraits in same order, so you can change the one its getting anyway, other than that ^

    2. Don't think so directly, but someone else might have some idea...... ?

Dunno if that counts, but we have included a "general discrimination" trait in order to let people who what kind of BG each character has without having to "view this character's bodyguard" (people had to get their chars out of a settlement to do that and then back in). Then, based on these traits, you can give others selectively. If that's what you're looking for, it's doable, but has a few catches.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    What I did:

    a) Recruited generals are considered "adopted" FM, so first you need to give every adopted fm a hidden trait.
    b) RGs have no parents, therefore you check for a global FatherTrait (I use supply, you can use the movement point thingy or any other trait that every character gets) and every character who returns positive for the above gets a hidden non-recr-general trait.
    c) The rest of the guys (those that are "Adopted" and *are* recruitable generals, then get their specific trait by checking faction and settlement buildings (for example Kinghts of Dol Amroth check for faction Reunited Kingdom and a settlement-specific building Dol Amroth) in order to get the "Captain of Dol Amroth" RG trait.
    d) Now, based on the specific traits above, each character can then get any trait you want, that will check for the existence of specific RG-traits.
