    Exclamation help on skeletons

    for CAS files, not DDS (that was a breeze):
    I need help: I tried to replace a sword for an arab swordsman in IBFD with a more accurate one (as per the instructions provided here), and when I tried to export, it gives a fun!@?SS error, and stops me from finishing (the jibberish=can't finish-don't remember)-it's for a nearly finished mod of the mod (yes I beta tested-it works! )

    can someone help?

    also, I need someone good at modding to create newv cas files (I've asked repeatedly-no dice ) that's for another mod I'm doing (I'm doing the skins right now+stats)-I'll only be more specific if someone applies..

    You probably won't get any applicants like that.

    Here's a general modding tip (my 2p): You need to be willing to make the entire mod by yourself. People with skills (like modellers) generally have their own ideas, they want to make their own mods. If you want to attract a team, you have to produce something to show off first, something to inspire people and make them think "I'll sacrifice some of my own ideas because I think this mod is worth working for".

    Make a proposal, ie;

    I want to make a mod set during ;date/period (description of period)
    Factions; Blah blah.
    New map; (screenshots if you have them)
    ect ect..

    Modelers tend to be rather rare these days so to snare one you need to have something to show, odds are (as this is RTW) the models you want have already been made, you just have to go and find them and seek permission to use them.

    now how does this sound?(give some last minute suggestions if you want-the loose ends are why I can't get this out immediatly):

    I'm working on a new mod, inspired by NTW2. this mod will be set in the seven years war period, from 1751-1765 (no name agreed on). the following 21 factions are:

    aligned with prussia:
    1-Great britain (with Hanover)
    2-prussia
    3-Portugal
    4-Brunswick
    5-Hesse-kassel

    with Austria:
    1-France
    2-Austria-hungary
    3-spain
    4-sweden
    5-russia
    6-hesse-Darmstadt
    7-Bavaria
    8-Palatinate
    9-wuttemburg

    others:
    1-hurons
    2-iroqois (I misspelled it I know)
    3-ottoman empire
    5&6 are more Native Americans-I'm open to suggestions.
    7-independant nations (if there is a strat map)

    map (if any) will be from one side of the Atlantic to the other-still figuring out how to do this

    Ibrahim, sorry I can't help with the modelling bit!

    but for the mod idea, you'd be better off posting that part in Mod Discussion
    you're much more likely to get responses to mod proposals in there if you start a thread about your idea with an appropriate title.

    well, is there anyone who can at least swap the sword skeleton of the Arab swrdsman with that of a sword phaigan?

    If you swap them in G-max, perhaps someone with 3ds max could open your save file and export it to a CAS for you.

    as you only want to send them to one person presumably and not make them available for general download, the easiest options would be

    a. email as an attachment - if you've got the modders email

    b. upload the file to a site like
    http://www.megaupload.com/
    or
    http://www.filefront.com/

    and copy and paste the link address for the download it gives you into what ever message, pm or post you're sending the modder.

    (my first time: hope it works)
    I'll open a new thread as well in modding discussions or somthing.

    (also, if possible for you, please do the following:
    1-remove all saraweel (pants/breeches)
    2-make the non general/lancer/arab infantry clothes wrap around clothes (like a toga or chiton.) the infantry (except the arab infantry (the one with spear and round shield-leave as is exept with the pants part.)) should have a loincloth (think towel wrapped round waste), with a mantle or cloak wrapped roud them in a manner as stated above. the result should be like pilgrims in Mecca (I want them for the normal spearmen and archers)
    3-have the lowest class (slinger) in a Sammaa' (just the chiton like cloth minus the tunic or anything really)
    4-headdresses are accurate so far-don't play with them.
