My best guess is that we have had a 14 year old at some point in the past but right now it's probably 16 years (as the youngest). Our oldest is probably going to be late 30's, but I'm not sure. We had a big group of early thirtysomethings and late twentysomethings, but now I'm not so sure of the distribution (we have had a lot of new members come on board for EB2 work in the last two months). Only a few are teens, most are probably in 20's and 30's, and if anyone is in 40's they don't mention it often. Probably a good bell curve with an average of 27 or so if I had to guess.

Here's a balloon for you for asking an interesting question that I don't recall being asked here before: .

It's crazy to think that at least one member has spent 1/5th of his life as an EB member.

Just over a year ago, following the beta testing rite; following some rather well preserved public EB WIP thread on these fora...

Not that much of it is now part of the 'state of the art' () but hey, if you are a bit clever you can find out.

Wasn't Edyzmedieval one of the younger chaps? Not sure how old he was when he joined. I was one of the younger members to. I was just 16 when I joined. And that was almost 3 years ago.

At average we're not really that old. Historians tend to write a lot, and in a somewhat more artistically liberated vernacular, so it enhances the idea of some grumpy old moustache-man with a straw-hat and old imperial British safari garb speaking as historians stereotypically do. In 1st of June I'm turning 25, so there you have it, not precisely geriatric, and still very much into booze, broads and bacon.

I know what you mean. Will never forget my trip to the Civil War battlefield of Gettysburg at age 7. The tour tape politely instructed my parents to tell any "children" in the car that the Northerners were the Union, and the Southerners were Confederates. I laughed for about five minutes before going on explaining to my parents why Pickett's Charge is a terrible misnomer since he only commanded one of the divisions in the assault.

Oh, wow. A balloon from the great Teleklos. Yay! I can't believe no one ever asked this before. Thanks.
