1 Question: Can client rulers now sally?

They can move now (slower then others FM). Putting them in not Gov4 city is not advised, they will get bad traits.

Hopefully, my boss didn't notice that I spent about an hour at work weighing up the decision to play on my current 189BC campaign or dash straight into a new 1.1 campaign.

Eventually I gave myself 8 days to go Marian, then make a decision.

Now I'm wasting precious gaming time watching the peers screen on utorrent and feeling the excitement and camaraderie of all those EB sharing in the endeavor of getting this out.

Well, I'm not a client of e2kdonkey (or whatever) nor of a BitTorrent, and I'm not sure whether I may become one of these... I've never tried these DL sources at all...
Why there are no other links, like it was before (in EB 1.0)? I've downloaded EB 1.0 directly from the site and there were no problems with file corruption or sth like that. Now it's like window-shopping for me... :(

Forget about the above. I'm an eMule client and it seems that it also has eD2K option; I don't know how, but I've started to DL EB1.1.exe via eMule, so now I have to wait some 27 hrs as system shows.

Anyway, if anyone is also the eMule client, now has the chance of DL-ing EB from one more source...

If you're using microsoft internet explorer then try mozilla firefox. It worked for me

As for most people here, I saw this post and had mixed feelings. I've just really begun to carve out a nice empire for myself with the romans and it's frustrating to feel the need to start all over again. Well, a person must change with the times and the campaign goes in the bin, I'll just post one or two screenshots instead so that you all know what I had to give up.

At this stage I'm embarking on greece. The fleet you see nearby is also filled with units. (vh/h)

(Maybe I should post this in another thread but it was only supposed to be a sneakpeek, and I'll remove this if anyone protests).

Its official, I have missed an entire EB update, I had .72 .73(for..a day) 7.4 the .8 series.. Then the DAY before 1.0 I lose my first CD, and on my first attempt to install to my last clean copy of RTW it bugs up on the screen and refuses to go into campaign.

...Atleast I installed it.

I started mine late last night, and it was finished by the time I came home from work. eMule isn't that slow.

Well, the eMule's speed depends on many factors... including "jams" in ISP's network and servers...

Are you using Vista? For me it look a very long time before the UAC window came up and let me tick it off, plus it takes a little while extracting the installer contents. Double click the icon, then bring up the task manager and check to make sure EB1.1.exe and EB1.1.tmp are running, if so just go make a cup of tea and be patient :)

@ The people bitching and whining about using peer to peer, if it's such a problem why don't YOU pay to host a HTTP or FTP download? No? Didn't think so...
They've given you a free game, stop moaning about how you get it and go google a torrent FAQ (all those moaning about rubbish speeds etc, you have poor configurations, I was able to reach a stable 200kbs within about thirty minutes of starting the download).

Starting my first 1.1 campaign right now....oh the excitement! :D

a-i've gotten the software for torrent-I wascomplaining about the time it took...wait you said 30 minutes? no wonder...sorry-too impatient-can't wait for EB 1.1.

Well, complete installation process can really take a couple of minutes; on my DualCore PC 2,8 GHz installation of EB 1.0 took some 10 minutes or so; EB 1.1 seems to be even larger and more complex, so it may take about 15 minutes... :)
