Looks like it revolted to the Saba as its unlikley they would send a stack all the way round arabia to conquer it without capturing the other cities on the way. the Seleukids usually take that settlement and lose it within a turn or two so its easy to miss.

    from my Aedui campaign 193bc

Not looking forward to facing the Ptolemaioi

Wow, well, at least the Ptolies exapnded somewhat realistically like an empire would do. They didn't go awol all over the place like I've seen them do sometimes.

I see you like to play your games slow too? Role playing, keeping factions alive (Arverni) and not blitzing makes the game that much more fun, doesn't it?

That Roman patch there is a bit odd though.

Yeah definatley! its way more fun that way. I've had to intervene on three seperate occasions to prevent the Arverni from falling to the Romani now though they are actually capturing roman cities (Bononia in this case). I also sent an army to the north of england to help the casse capture the city there but the seem to have stalled again so I decided to take Ireland for myself so I can have those lovely human tanks and hammer infantry (which i reenabled of course).

The patch was because they poured into Illyria after they lost their spanish and gallic holdings to me and carthage, its essentailly the western half of the now shattered Getai empire, after that the Arveri took Bononia and so hence the patch, I doubt they will be able to hold it for long though.

The Potelmaioi have been pretty good in this game, no desert wars with Karthadast, longterm peace with the Pahlava dispite a long border and expanding how you would imagine them to do. Also note Makedonia clinging on with Mytilene and Rhodes, I am secretly hoping they will launch some kind of comeback but i think the Ptolies are too strong for that now.

Oh my... Sweboz, Makedonia and the Ptolemies...

Edit: or is that still the Aedui in Gaul there? Sorry, I'm a bit colorblind.

If it is the Aedui, then only Pontos has died yet. Amazing for a campaign with such juggernaunts.

No, Aedui got destroyed. There's a couple of Lusotannan cities in Gaul.

One problem is that both the Sweboz and Epeirotes are Makedonian protectorates.

I'm guessing the settlement rebelled to the KH.
But they won't last for long

Here's a series from my current Epeiros campaign. I've done a little bit of force-diplomacy work and moved a few AI armies to places they really ought to have been already, but most of the progression is natural.

I'm particularly proud of Pontos. It looked like they were just going to be the usual do-nothing crowd, but once I moved one of their stationary armies (that one that starts off to the west and usually never moves for years until it gets attacked ) next to Ankyra, they seemed to get the picture. I haven't touched them since...

Here's a bigger map of the known world in 238. I'm currently in the process of sieging Sparta. I plan on taking Rhodes next, but after that I'm not sure. I may go north and finish off Makedon, but I'll probably give them Cyrene - which rebelled to AS, by the way - first, though since I don't like killing off factions.

If you noticed the lone blue province in northern Italy, no it didn't happen by accident . I took Mediolanum from the Aedui after they attacked me for no reason (of course). I needed to set up a buffer state since I have no ambitions in Gaul (at the moment), and didn't want to deal with hordes upon hordes of screaming barbaroi.

You're right they won't. I have plans for them!

Roma, 154 BC. I don't really like the Marian units

I also went pretty crazy with my spreadsheets this game:

    https://img36.imageshack.us/img36/7891/ebsheet2.png

At the beginning I killed all starting family members and played with only Titus Aemilius Lepidus. Adopted some Plebeians to get Marian Reforms. The Reformator ended up becoming Augustus without meeting all conditions (bug). I didn't mind because I liked him, being 10/10/10 and all.

Even though that's exactly how the Ptolemaioi should expand.

By the way, how did the Aedui capture Southern Ireland?

Because they are controlled by the human player.

If you look carefully though, you can see that the southern Irish province has Aedui as "founder" faction. This is highlighted by the fact that the Eleutheroi AI (if given time) will build an Aedui governmental system as well as paved roads there! Nice exploit if you play the Casse slowly (or if you play expansionist Swêboz/Lusotannan), because of all Barbarian faction, only the Gauls can build paved roads.

That's strange, I thought they'd be based off the Lusotannii, as Ireland is entirely within the Luso expansion regions....

Shouldn't be too bad, once I get into the Balkans i'll have access to all those lovely falx units which should make pretty short work of any Ptolemaio army.

    Pretty nice isn't it.

    A year later 192bc

I finished my conquest of Ireland and am now training a small army to make sure the Casse don't try anything.
A Sweboz attack was fought off and I now intend to capture their cities west of the Elbe to use as a bargining chip for peace. Captured Numantia to further my ambitions in Iberia, I plan to build up the MIC's to get the amazing Dunaminaca for the backbone of my new Iberian army.

Elsewhere the Ptolemaioi continue their push into greek lands but are having problems in some areas. Baktria seems to be on its last legs and is down to its last city which is surrounded by enemies. Rome faces danger from the Qarthadasti but might get some respite due to revolts on Sicily.
