    EB 1.0
    Makedonia 226 BC

I first kicked the Koinon out of Athens and Sparta (that last one was a lucky shot) with my starting armies. Thanks to those cities my economy was saved and when Pyrrhus came back (he didn't besiege me in 272 but Epeiros attacked Pella with a small army some years later) I could kick him back and later field an army large enough to destroy the Epeirote field army and take their capital. I didn't want to destroy them so waited a number of years before I kicked them out of Greece. Since then they've taken over most of the Italian peninsula -without any help.
My diplomats made contact with most nations and I've supported most of them with 500-1000 mnai a turn. I think it helped Pontos and Pahlava a fair bit.
Untill 5 years ago, I hadn't attacked a single faction safe the ones at the start. But then the Seleucids attacked me so I took Issos. Now I'm at war with the Koinon and the Ptolemaioi.
Allright: the surprises of the AI:
Casse had a very slow start but now they have a fullstack waiting to conquer more of the British Isles.
Sweboz never got of the ground and never accepted my mnaigifts. They have a fullstack but don't do anything with it.
The biggest suprise: Aedui. Not only did they hold Mediolanum for decades (the romans only captured it 10-15 years ago) they also conquered the towns under and below it (prolly the romans got the town in the first place)
Since then the Aedui have conquered most of Gaul and now they've started a war with the Lusotanna.
Next suprise: Epeiros. I've kicked them out of Greece but they managed to conquer most of Italy from Taras. Impressive rebound.
The Koinon finally managed the same. They were confined to Rhodos but then entered a war with the Ptolemaioi where they captured Hallicarnassos, Ephese and Sidon.
Lusotanna conquered most of Spain but are now facing the fiercesome gauls.
Carthage captured Africa and Sicily (despite epirote attempts to capture it) but don't seem to do anything more)
Ptolemaioi and AS kept each other at bay, but now I'm entering the fray and will disrupt the balance.
Pontos is a pretty decent nation, and Hayasdan has the Caucasus firmly under control.
Pahlava was going nicely untill Baktria decided to attack. They're a client kingdom now, as is Saka Rauka.
And Rome? Well they lost their homelands and are now stuck betwee Gauls, invincible rebels, me and Epeiros. Things are not going good for them.

My Pontos VH/M campaign (ALEX 1.2 with LZ3's minimod pack), 248 BC:

Seleukids were getting really dangerous near the start. They eventually took Alexandreia (still have it) and Chighu (lost it after about two turns). They also destroyed Pahlava... in 267 BC. Luckily for me, after smashing their full stack that attacked me when I had northern and western Anatolia under control in a bridge battle, I was able to expand quickly into their homelands, where they had only a unit or two garrisoned in each city. I had initially planned just to sack Antiocheia (where I destroyed all the building and gifted it to the Ptolemies), but it quickly became apparent that I could afford to hold their cities while the tattered AS armies streamed back one at a time from central Asia. I'm hoping they'll actually accept a ceasefire after I take the rest of their holdings up to the Caspian, so that I can consolidate power and build up infrastructure for a while before destroying Egypt.

AI is better than with RTW.exe, but still stupid at times, notably the KH stack which has sat on Krete since the game's start without moving.

gah, that's why I don't play at vh. You have to rush/blitz everything to be not destroyed by the neighbouring factions. Pontos is so nice to play it slow on hard or medium and with those mines in Asia Minor you can easily affort to keep ptolly/AS at bay while sending a plundering-stack every now and then. But the unit roster is just lovely. <3 :-)

The interesting stuff has mostly happened in the west

Roma became powerful, attacked the Aedui and was winning handily, attacked the Averni as well and the Gallic fightback started in earnest. Then Taras rebelled and took Rhegion and Messana, the 3 Kart Hadast fullstacks outside Lilibeo decided it was their time to move and overwhelmed everything, including Taras and Roma itself. Back in Gaul-the war ravaged Gauls were easily overrun by hordes of Lusotannen who had been waiting and building up for 20 years until the last Kart Hadast outpost fell.

In other news Haysadan made the Sauromatae their clients early on, which gave them the resources to fight a running war against AS.

    Sweboz
    240BC:

By this time sacked Rome, just one along with other cities, and gave it to the Aedui as present.
    220BC:

Two invasions in progress at the British Isles and Greece, also fighting on other 3 fronts with Rome, Iberians and at the steppe.
