A while ago, I declared (in the Backroom) that music was dead, or something to that effect; my point was, there is no good music anymore. Well, I stand corrected.

I hate to sound like an advertiser, but I am a Reverend (thats no lie; I have an official ordination from the Universal Life Church of Modesto, California. Anyway, that means I gotta evangelize sometime.) And these are all Myspace links because, despite any negative connotations Myspace may have, it is still a great place to find good music.

The Black Keys
Far-out blues rock, no more explanation needed. Songs on the site will sound different because their latest album is very different (and - darest I say? - better.)

The Quarter After
A bizarre combination of 60's folk-rock, 80's underground psych-rock (a la Jesus and Mary Chain) and modern alternate rock. Don't really know how to describe them, but they are damn good.

Spindrift
Kind of a funky psychedelic Ennio Morricone-inspired Western band. Possibly the first band to write an album that spawned a movie, rather than the other way around.

The Black Angels
If the Doors were a metal band... I know, it might not sound appealing at first, but give it a shot. They're different.

Radio Moscow
A mixture of the MC 5 and Cream, with some Hendrix-inspired guitar thrown in. Heavy.

Dead Meadow
Another heavy group; their earlier work was an even mixture of Hendrix, Zeppelin and Sabbath, but they have moved into different (modern) territory recently.

The Buffalo Killers
My personal favorite at the moment. Just listen.
