    Default question

ok so i started over on my romani campaign.

In 1.0 i usually take taras and rhegion the first time i attack.

taras was captured from those epirote fools quite easily, but the damn rebels in rhegion fought like lions, and stuck it out to the time limit. (i still killed 80% of their troops...only lost 18% of mine)

Anyway what i was wondering is, was rhegion beefed up for 1.1????

There are a heap of garrison changes across the board. You can check what changes are made by diffing descr_strat.txt from 1.0 and 1.1. I can't remember if Rhegion has any specific changes.

It would seem that the garrison at Rhegion actually got a decrease in strength. They lost a Rorarii moving from 1.0 to 1.1. Otherwise, everything's the same.

No the Roman garrison in Rhegion looks about the same, but the battlefield AI is a bit smarter. It will draw up the Opfor in a real fighting formation outside the gate. Provoke them then retreat up the slope of the mountain and their pursuit will become disorganized and strung out. Then you can deal with them piecemeal. As here you'll have the height advantage, so of course concentrate your missile fire on their captain. With him routed or dead the rest is a piece of cake.

I did note that the fortifications at Taras have been upgraded a bit.
