Thread: apeleutheroi question

    Default apeleutheroi question

    Hi,

I started a new Romani campaign, and I noticed that if I build
the local barracks in towns like Bononia in the Camillan era,
I can get apeleutheroi, which are freed men
with very bad fighting skills (i.e. it's a waste of money and a
    last resort).

There's this info next to the apeleutheroi that also says:

Max 2 revolt (if I remember correctly).

    What does that mean?
I also noticed that if I upgraded the local MIC I could then get
    apeleutheroi with max 3 revolt.

Not that I'd ever recruit them, but what does the max N revolt mean?

Max n, means, AFAIK, max n-experience.

These troops can't be recruited by any faction but the Eleutheroi and are only there to encourage the Slave AI to upgrade its MICs as well as prevent the infamous rebellion CTD.

Actually it says "rebellion only 2", unless that got changed towards the end. We thought perhaps that would explain things. Not for everyone, apparently.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

    You're right, it's "rebellion only N".

And I just checked the recruiting screen.
Even though you have the local MIC, you can't recruit that unit.

That's because... It's REBELLION ONLY. Duh.

However, when you buy a settlement from another faction in the diplomacy screen, you DO get quite a few to help defend the settlement until you recruit real troops there.

This is a great innovation imho. Much better than vanilla.

    hi bovi,

My last post was merely to confirm the replies to me.

It was not intended as a complaint nor to frustrate anyone.

Just one more thing: I'm loving 1.1.

I'm sorry, I thought you were saying it was a bug that they were not recruitable. And also I'm sorry for getting smart-assy, it's been a recurring topic.
