So I was able to send in an army as the KH and liberate Massalia from the Roman overlords. Problem was I had no FM anywhere close by, so I immediately put in a type 4 gov. Eventually, the dirty Romans returned a couple of years later and siege my new city so I went into battle. Needless to say I was shocked to discover that my client ruler was not a proper Greek general but a barbarian lesser king.
I know that Massalia had both Celt and Greek population at this time, so why not allow a Greek to rule instead of barbarian. It just seems the natural choice. Or is this really a clever Greek general that has just “gone native” in his fighting style? I understand the choice would make sense for barbarian faction in the area to support one of their own but just doesn't seem realistic to me that KH would go out of their way to support natives when they have their own kind to work with.
I just wondered why the EB team made the choice it did, is there some historical information like the Greek population being decimated or a historical precedent of Celtic leader of Massalia at this time. Don’t get me wrong I’m not nagging; I appreciate the hard work put into releasing 1.1 and all its goodies, but I would like to understand a little bit more about this anomaly.
