Thread: repeatable CTD

  1. #1

    Default repeatable CTD

I’ve run into a repeatable crash with ver. 1.1 of EB in my recently started Roman campaign. When I say repeatable, I mean I cannot get the turn to execute beyond my current save position without a CTD during the turns execution.

I’ve installed the two files in the 1.1 fix thread but they had no effect. For whatever reason, I cannot execute the turn in my campaign, it crashes to desktop every time. Up to this point I've had no problems at all.

My system is an Intel core 2 duo 2.66 GHz, Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS 640mb graphics card, creative labs X-fi sound card. I’m running Windows Vista Home Premium.

I ran EB ver. 1.0 on this box without problems and I’ve never had a problem running RTW or the BI expansion for that. EB ver. 1.1 is a clean install of RTW patched up to 1.5 with EB installed over that. I did not install BI even though I own it.

Not sure if the team can do anything about it, but I have the save game available if anyone wants to see if they can reproduce the crash or figure out why it’s locked into a crash at this point in the campaign.

Check for cities rebelling. (Belonging to any faction not just your own)

Please do post your savegame. Can't promise that we find out what's wrong (or even that we get around to trying, as I had about 25 CTD'ing savegames for 1.0 that I didn't test), but it can't hurt .

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

I'm new to this forum, how do I post a file into the thread, it isn't readily apparent?

Edit: Never mind, I read the sticky, I think I've got it figured out. Here's the file:

Yes, there is still a CTD caused by rebelling cities... sometimes. We've killed several of these rebellion CTD beasts, but they seem to be hydras. In most cases it works just fine. Apparently the game field building can cause a CTD when the city rebels... sometimes. That's as far as we've come on it.
