If you talk about the game crashing, most likely you made a syntax error. If you talk about your changes not appearing in game, you may have edited the wrong EDU (since you had to assign ownership in the EDU as well...), in that case try editing the edu found in sp game edu backup folder; but make sure to back up that edu first.
