Thanks again Bovi! I went back to square 1 - uninstalled everything, then reinstalled a clean 1.5 and EB 1.1, with the permanent fixes. Game loaded and played Romani through 6 turns, saved game, and had to go out of town; keeping fingers crossed it works when I get back on Friday (I'll let you know!)!
