    Default Persistent CTD in Pontus Campaign 240 BC

    Hello everybody,

    I am playing an unmodded EB 1.1 with all permanent fixes. Until now I had no problems but random CTDs that did not persist when reloading. But this one seems to be different:

    Pontus, Winter 240 BC, Game crashes during AI-Turn, doesn't matter if the script is enabled or not. With toggled FoW it crashed during the roman turn, but no city was affected, just a small army talking a walk near Massilia and, boom, crash.
    Now I canceled the building projects, which would be ready in the next turn, tried again and: It worked. The game did not crash, but two or three turns later, in 239 BC I had the next permanent CTD and this time it didn'd help to cancel the building projects.

    Now I'll go back to the game, try to cancel all the building projects and after that I'll report what happened and post the 239 BC savegame.

    I really would appreciate your help! This Pontus campaign is awfully amazing, as is the resrt of this outstanding mod.

    Ok, here I am again with my problem....

    The crash happens again during the Roman AI-Turn. I watched the AI turn two times without fow, first with enabled script, then without. The game crashes, in both cases, when a roman army with familiy member tresspasses the eleutheroi-area of Aventicos, approaching the town, which already is besieged by another familiy-member.

    To cancel all the building projects did not work this time.

    PS: Validated the installation now and downloaded the missing patch_1.pack. Still crashing. Anyway, it said, that my installation was corrupt, so I unstalled everything, downloaded EB from a differend mirror, and reinstalled everything including the fixes. But the game is still crashing.

    Please post which files are different in the validation. Beyond this, I'd suggest to see if there are any rebellious cities around the map. And thank you for the report .

    thank you for the reply. Here are the different files from my new installation, in which the game crashes in exactly the same way as in the old one during the roman AI-Turn. I did'nt see any rebelling towns.
    AS I wrote, I installed all the permanent fixes in the EB data directory.

    Anyway. today I started a new Pontus campain, which works fine so far. The old one was m/m and I try h/m now for more challenge. So I'm not desperate anymore. If malignouos crashes should occure, I'll report again.

    You should download the new checklist, as you've installed the fixes; the validation gives you the option to do so.

    Anyway, I see that you've got RTW in another language than English, as all the vanilla text files are changed. Would you mind saying which language it is, so I can upload a checklist for it? German?

    Anyway, taking into account that you don't have the updated checklist, the installation looks fine. Has to be some error in our code, so thank you for the report and happy conquering in your new campaign!

    The second one (...data/export_descr_characters_traits.txt) could be mentioned, because I accidently unpacked the traits fix into the rtw-data folder (not EB/data) and then replaced it with the one out of my vanilla copy, without knowing if I did the right thing.
    Anyway, we Germans have a checklist of our own now, thank you for that!

    Yeah, I didn't change the vanilla descr_items.db or EDCT checksum, as I don't see why they would be changed when translating to German.

    The lighting I'm assuming you changed with the trivial script.

    I forgot to update the checklists with the fixed EB EDCT checksum, but I've done that now .

    The campaign_script.txt is because I updated that fix this morning, you should pick it up before your next campaign.

    I don't know why the ausculum battle description turns out that way... I'll have to check it out sometime, but anyway it shouldn't make any difference except when running that battle!
