They were real, allright, and they kicked Swedish behinds royally on several occasions. Unfortunately, during the GNW the military science had passed them by. In several carolean diaries its written how beautiful the Polish Crown army looked at the battle of Klissow 1702 in their polished, gilded and silvered armor, wings, silk and lace, and how sorry the Swedish soldiers was to have to shoot at such a pretty display. The standards of beauty were different in the baroque era, and flamboyancy was not nessecarily a bad thing.

    Default MOD INFO

'European Wars' is set in the XVIII century beginning in 1700 and is a precursor to Empire: TW. In this period three great wars took place in Europe – Spanish succession war, Great North War (between Sweden and Russia) and the Seven years war. In mod, you will see the infantry of Peter I the Great, famous musketeers of Louis XIV and grenadiers of Friedrich II the Great.

It probably says somewhere, but is there going to be a campaign or just battles?
It is well that war is so terrible — otherwise we should grow too fond of it- Robert E. Lee

Maybe you should add Naples and/or Italy? I think they were imprortant in this age, maybe.

Italy = Venice, Genoa, Tuscany, Modena, Florence, Savoy, Milan, Papal States, Trient. No unified Italy until late 19th Century.

Naples= Controlled by France, Austria and Spain during the 18th Century.
French to 1714, Austrian 1734 then Spanish.

Just to clear up some historical things.

This would be a wild guess; the top one - French Musketeer (The Guards unit, -Athos, Portos, Aramis, et c.)

The bottom one - French line infantry grenadieer, pre 1715.

The basic color of French Guards units and Regiments Etrangers were blue, and the basic color of line infantry were gray before 1715 and white after.

The basic color of cavalry were red.

    If i remember correctly...

    OK!
Next try. The lower one; The skirts of the coat are connected, which non-swedish units didn't adopt untill after the 1720's The shape of the wig, together with the fact that its powdered suggests after 1730's, which the fact that the soldier carries a cutlass instead of a rapier also suggests. The lapels of the chest looks like the lapels of the Swedish 1756 model uniform.
The shape of the (bearskin?) cap looks like it's influenced by the hungarian hussar cap...

Austro - Hungarian line infantry grenadieer from the seven years war?

    OK! At least i'm trying...
