I speak English, understand a touch of French (we (family) used to have students from Reunion stay at my house) and speak a touch of Indonesian. Unfortunately, no Portuguese for me. =/

I have a feeling not too many are learning Portoguese; mainly native speakers. (As with my own mother tongue :-D)

That is true. There also the problem that most people think that portuguese is the same as spanish and that in Brazil everyone speak spanish as well. That couldn't be more wrong. Brazilians DEFINETLY don't speak spanish, although it might sound the thing to an english speaker, native portuguese speakers get insulted by this.
I don't know if any of you guys remember, but current US president George W Bush, said that Brazil's capitol was BUENOS AIRES!!! That is in ARGENTINA!! Gosh, that thing was really annoying...

If you think that's as bad as it gets...

Well... Yes. It is somewhat close to Portuguese. Perhaps you can understand something with the help of a dictionary. But both languages sound very much like each other.
