    Default Battlestar Galactica

Well, I saw some people talking about in in the Movie Review thread and guess I should start a thread for it to see if there are lots of people who watch it here.

If you haven't watched it, I highly highly recommend the series. Free complete episodes can be gotten from Here

Thoughts on the final season so far:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Found the battle in the premiere just great. The CGI was really impressive. The split within the Cylons is bound to be quite interesting too. I don't see how the Cavils/Simons/Dorals can surivive if the Sixes/Eights/Leobens have the Centurions/Raiders on their side. It seems according to the spoiler for the next episode that Cally finds out that the Chief is a Cylon. I wonder how she will reacts considering she shot Boomer and hate Cylons quite alot (there is a rumor going around that Cally might get airlocked in this episode. Hope that doesn't happen)

Some of us remember Battlestar Galatica with face from the A-Team as Starbuck (probably pre- coffee shop franchise) and Apollo as the annoying goody good guy.

That and they mangaed to get the guy of Bonanza to rule them all....

What I wanna know is, what the heck is up with Chip Gaius appearing in Baltar's own head??! Is he separate from Chip Six? Is he the same Chip Gaius that appears to Caprica Six? And just what is the significance of his most recent appearance, anyway?

Just finished season 1, it needed some time to kick in but now I am hooked. So many quality series lately, a movie just isn't long enough to really get a feel for the characters, perfect mixture of soap & action. Gonna buy season two when I am done with The Shield which is also very entertaining.

    @Martok

IIRC, some people were theorizing that it was because they were too lazy to redo Sixe's hair or makeup or something like that so they used Gaius himself instead.

    @Mouzafphaerre

You can get free full episodes from scifi.com which is the network that its airing on in the US. If you click on my link you should be able to see the new episodes. They always have like the 5 latest episodes on there.

    @fragony

Keep on watching! I really liked most of the second season. Downloaded which is S02E15 I think is one of my favorites from the whole series.

I believe those are only available to viewers in the United States, unfortunately. Luckily The channel I watch it on is showing it as it airs for this season, instead of the few months behind it usually is.

Seasons one and two were pure genius. After that, well, by the end of season three I felt that a shark had been jumped. Multiple sharks, in fact.

Thanks for the link mate but I'd like to see them in appropriate order. That site seems to be hosting a few random episodes.

Well, I hope the NBC clone that had been airing it for the past couple of years takes it up in a few months. They've always followed it from a while back so I can hope.

I want to like this show and the bits I've seen over the past couple of years intrigues me, but I can't seem to get past the "shaky cam" way the show is filmed. It annoys me more than the storyline interests me.

The bro gave me another series since Battlestar wasn't silly Star-Trek and science fiction as a genre doesn't necesarily suck. ' Firefly', so far I am having a blast.

I though "Faith" was the best episode of the season. It really moved the story along. The next episode with Athena/Six tensions seem pretty nice too

    Thoughts:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Thought the hybrid's babblings are too vague for anything definitive. Kara may be the harbinger of death, but it doesn't specify to WHOM, the humans, the cylons, or both. Furthermore, to the end may mean earth as well as death.

I can't believe that Roslin is starting to believe Baltar's religious talk, but I guess that dream was pretty powerful.

Very relieved to see Athena's character developed since I thought she was being inconsistent in this season so far. When Leoben gets on Demetrius, she doesn't even talk to him or give any opinions that shows she is a Cylon other than when he talks to her on the Raptor right before they leave for the Basestar

I really enjoyed "Faith" as well -- a very interesting episode.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I was actually more intrigued by Anders' actions than anything else, though....especially when he comforts the Eight model that dies from the gunshot wound. I have to wonder what the other characters will think of that.

The Humans and the Cylons end up in a huge firefight. The whole fleet is destroyed except for Starbuck in a Viper. Right before she gets killed by a missle, she wakes up and finds herself back in the brig right before the attack. That would be really funny....

Or, they get to Earth and find themselves in the Terminator world. 3 way free for all fight for the planet then

Well the Roslin-Adama shippers will certainly be happy with last night's episode. (I will admit they are pretty cute together, and I like their chemistry.) It's way past time that she found her heart again.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Also, I totally cracked up at the scene between her and D'anna. The look on Laura's face really was priceless when D'anna told her she was the Final Cylon.

From the previews, next week's episode should be even more interesting (if that's even possible!)....

Again I must reapeat - another great episode !

Actually I have just realised only three or so episodes were less than very good or simply superb...
They were not joking saying that the series will end with style and improving its quality.

All right, let's add a word or two about the Hub...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The only thing which left me a bit disappointed was Leoben - it seems his part was not written properly - I guess that was the idea, not to make it even more crowded with plots than it was. Probably for the same reason the previous episode had so little space for Starbuck who should be a bit more concerned about the mission. But again that could be hard to squeeze into the crowd of major plots to follow. Besides I felt similar with earlier episodes - that something was missing - only to notice later that it could hardly be better than it was.

The strenghts of 'the Hub' in no particular order:

    - the space battle - amazing, spectacular and made sense on tactical level as usual,

    - Roslin and Adama finally reaching the breaking point of the mature relationship between adult, experienced people,

    - Balthar - the confession and the 'discussion' with the centurion - excellent !

    - the otherwordly, 'mystic' parts of the episode - reminds me the DS9 and no wonder, but this time it is even better,

    - Roslin - very well written, very well played, clearly something to remember. A Golden Globe ? Hard to tell, but the 4th series will be difficult to ignore even if some people do not like SF.

    - D'anna (corected spelling)- I expected more God fearing, devout cylon - I am glad it is not the case, though I wonder how the entire thing with the Final Five will be played now...
And yes - the part with 'revealing the truth to Roslin ' was great. :)

    - several excellent lines - 'you were not married to the entire production line'
    or - 'I love you',
    - 'About time...'

It seems the series reaches the real maturity combining all aspects of a good show in a single episode - humour, action, religion, death, politics, love and so on.

Most likely a 'must get' DVD when it is released.

I must say that I have agreed with everything said so far.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
My only dissapointment with this episode is that Boomer didn't even have any lines. I was half expecting for Helo and Fakethena to bump into her on the Hub.

That being said, do you guys think Boomer made it off the Hub or is the story arc with her and Cavil done?

Well obviously Cavil is done -- that goes without saying. As for Boomer, my feeling is she made it off the Hub before it blew. I think that if Ron Moore was going to kill her off, he would make sure the audience knew it.

Also, as a completely random aside: Do you realize who the Fleet's second-ranking officer is at the moment (until Adama and Helo return)? That's almost as frightening a thought as Tigh being back in charge.

Also: I wonder what will happen with Lee once Roslin's back.

NO chance - she survived for sure and most likely did that with the same Cavil killed by D'anna.
You are not killing so unique character in not this way.

It would be incredibly stupid if it ended in some sort of off screen 'action' - 'BTW guys, Bomer is dead, she slipped on a banana skin while leaving the Hub and didn't make it, but we still have a thousand hot, Cylon women so dodn't worry...

Here are the Canadian and US previews for the mid-season finale, Revelations.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I found it relatively surprising that 3 would out the final five as quickly as she did. It seemed like she would at least try to barter for as much as she could get out of that knowledge.

Towards the end of the canadian promo, Adama says while crying essentially "What have I done? All the people I've sent to die" That seemed extremely emotional and very well acted on EJO's behalf. There is alot of speculation that the fleet may actually find or reach it temporarily in some fashion, only to discover that it is a wasteland or nearly uninhabitable
