Default Installing EB on BI (or even Alex for that matter)

Hey lads. I've heard a lot about playing EB using BI and Alex.exe, but I've never tried it myself. I've decided to try and give it a go on BI, but I just need to know how to actually play using it. Do I need to uninstall my current EB from Rome? How do I play it from BI, and can my saves be carried over to it? Cheers lads, and I hope anyone else finds this thread useful too.

It is not savegame compatible and there are great threads in the unofficial modding section of this forum to get it all working.

Basically for BI, you will need to do this if you 1.1 and the trivial script installed:

And this to get it all working:

See this thread for additional info:

I have no experience with ALEX, but I play with BI and love it. I've heard that it has more CTD's than regular, but I can't tell because I've been playing with only BI for about a year; though I do get an occasional ctd, but no big. To me naval invasions are the best part, though they can get somewhat annoying, especially when epeiros, KH, and carthage are constantly trying to wrestle sicily and southern italy from me in my romani campaign, though I also like night battles (requires more editing, see the additional info thread).

If you have a savegame (made on RTW), you can easily play it from BI. In fact, if you have a savegame, you don't even need to change any files.

I must be mistaken then, I wish sometimes I could get my facts straight before opening my big mouth. Dang, need to lay off the peyote.

Indeed, I recently moved my current campaign to BI with no issues whatsoever. Long as you follow the instructions in the linked threads, it works just fine.

If the thread with a million reasons isn't enough information for you, nothing we say here will be.

Can you switch back to rtw.exe having used BI.exe for a while? And will I need to uninstall BI to do it, or can I just change the TrivialScript and other bits and pieces back to how they were?

It was nice using it while I was supposed to be at war with Carthage, but now these naval invasions are just annoying. They keep sending tiny little stacks every few turns and there's never peace.
