Help on playing both Vanilla and EB

I have vanilla RTW 1.5 installed and I am playing certain campaigns on it, but I want to play EB too, as far as I understand from the installation guides EB is more like a total conversion rather than a mod because it requires a clean installation of RTW 1.5, which means I will either play play vanilla or EB.

I tried to make a seperate installation of RTW but it does not let me do it.

Could you please help me on this issue, how can I play both the vanilla game and EB.

As far as i know you can still play Vanilla with EB installed, but don't take my word for it as I may be wrong. Not that you'll WANT to play Vanilla once you've got EB on it, you'll understand once you play it. And welcome to the forum!

Install Rome: Total War and patch it to 1.5. Go to the folder where you installed it, and copy the Rome - Total War folder. Rename that one to whatever you like, for example "EB" or "Europa Barbarorum". Install EB to the copied folder.

Voila! When you want to play vanilla, just play from the original folder, where you didn't install EB.

I think that altough EB is on another planet compared to rtw, i think that the vanilla version is still pretty good fun. It sufficed before i got my hands on rome total realism and EB.. I think that it deserves respect.

yeah that will most certainly work and should have been the first thing to come to my mind, and I have been thinking for three days on how to accomplish this
