Thread: Romani Saved Game

    Default Romani Saved Game

Does anyone have a Romani 1.1 Save to upload? I have had to re-install EB and would rather not have to play to the Polybian Reforms again.

My current game, at 233BC. Had the Polybian reforms, but no Polybian troops yet, only three of the five settlements have completed upgrading MICs (Arretium, Ariminium, Arpi).
It began on seven hills - an EB 1.1 Romani AAR with historical house-rules (now ceased)
Heirs to Lysimachos - an EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR with semi-historical houserules (now ceased)
    Philetairos' Gift - a second EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR

    Superb! Cheers pal.

I'm not using BI, will it still work?

I'm not sure, I don't think it makes any difference. You can certainly switch from rtw.exe to bi.exe, I'm hoping you can go backwards as well since I'm planning to go back to rtw.exe.

Did you start a new game to generate a map.rwm before you loaded it?

No. I didn't know I had to do that.

Any time you start mucking around with stuff like that, your safest bet is to find it and detele it. Delete the one the Trivial Script uses for single player games, if you're using it as well.

Oh, and I should tell you what mods I'm using. Force Diplomacy (which shouldn't make any difference), Darth Stalin's Roman skins (which alters the EDU; it might do), and I edited the size and cost of Polybian triarii maniples (halved; again EDU edit, not sure if it matters). I also applied the sprites and traits fixes, but not the UnitSize one.

Tried deleting the map.rwm but it still CTDs on loading. Never mind. Thanks anyway.

Once deleted, you have to start up a new campaign so it can create a new one. Then quit, start up again and load the saved game.

Make sure you get the one in the sp folder if you're using the TrivialScript.

EDIT: Having said all this, I still don't actually know if saves are backwards-compatible. This game started with rtw.exe, then I switched.

It's not a 1.5 v 1.6 thing, I just used my saved game in rtw.exe after a clean re-installation. I wonder if FileFront is doing something funny to the file? Or perhaps you just have to have the very same mods installed as I do?

Quite possibly. I only have the Ciy Mod and Force Diplomacy on my game. I have just started to play through my Romani campaign now anyway, i'm already at 263, flying through.
