Default Do I need to re-install to revert to rtw.exe?

I'd been playing using rtw.exe for a while before I switched to bi.exe. Well now I want to switch back again, the naval invasions just become an extension of stupid AI behaviour when you share a land border.

Do I need to do a clean uninstall-reinstall, or can I just change the TrivialScript back to running rtw.exe (along with changing some folder names back and deleting the map.rwm)? Will my saved game continue to work back in the other direction?

Or am I better off just doing it clean and avoiding any errors?

You should be able to switch back to rtw.exe no problems using the method you've described. I know savegames can go from RTW-BI so I suppose its possible but I'm not sure about going back the other way, my guess is you'll probably have to find out for the rest of us
    Cheers

Simply switching the executable and various folder/filenames doesn't work, possibly because when installing BI it changes other things. I can't create a new campaign at any rate, haven't tried simply loading an existing one.

EDIT: That starts loading with no icon, then goes back to the main menu, so doesn't work.

I might do a clean reinstall to be safe, but it would be useful to know if saved games are backward-compatible. Especially since that's now my only option.

Naval invasions that are annoying, rather than threatening. With rtw.exe I could have lengthy peace with Carthage. No they just keep filling up the nearest available ship with 2-4 units and shipping them to Sardinia.

It's just the same as factions who share a land border attacking you pointlessly, only now it's anyone with a port. I dread to think what it'll be like when I have my First Macedonian War - they seem particularly in love with naval invasions in my game.

Did a clean reinstall and it works just fine. So apparently you can switch back and forth between rtw.exe and bi.exe, but with the caveat that it requires a clean installation.
