    Default Command line manipulation of alliances

    I'm playing the long road as Venice and I'm getting extremely frustrated with the rate of papal favor loss I experience because I'm at war with one of the popes allies. That same ally of the pope also never ever gets excommunicated for attacking me, since no matter how often they lay siege to my cities, their standings stay at 8, mine drops to 4 or 3 in a matter of perhaps 15 turns from 10 if one of my cardinals is elected.
    I got sick of this and Milan is now my vassal, that event also caused a cease ire between me and Sicily, because Milan and Sicily were allied. Now I can't attack sicily without losing my vassal (which is stupid imho, the vassal is my subject and should lose his ally instead, or go to war with my enemy even). The same is true for when I eventually decide to march on rome...

    I therefore wonder, is it possible to edit out an alliance, or to trigger the alliance in tatters event I guess, between two factions using the command line / console thingie?

    I don't mind the game being harder, I'm in a two front war on purpose, I just don't think vassalage should be possible to break without it being an act of war, just because they had another alliance before they became my vassals.

    I have never heard of a way in reading 3 forms for the past 15 months.

    Me neither, and I spent more than an hour looking yesterday, on both center and guild :p
    Wonder what the odds of me finding out through fooling around with the console are... Maybe it's not even possible, there are some commands that don't work properly from what I've read?

    The most comprehensive list I've found to date is here: cheatscodesguides.com.

    On that list, your best bets would be:

    force_diplomacy <accept/decline/off> : Forces the negotiator to accept or decline a proposition

    diplomatic_stance <faction_a> <faction_b> <allied/neutral/war> : Set the diplomatic stance between the two factions (factions must be different)

    The syntax looks fairly straightforward as long as you get the faction names right. There's probably a list somewhere; but I'm not sure whether you'd need capitalisation.

    Try:

    diplomatic_stance Milan Sicily neutral

    or:

    diplomatic_stance milan sicily neutral

    I'm going to try it as soon as I get home from work. I anticipate some problems resulting from The Long Roads elaborate faction names... =) Serenìsima Republica Venexia, did I miss any `´?

    Try using the vanilla faction name anyway, often, the "internal name" (name used by the game engine) is unchanged from vanilla. If it doesn't work that way, ask on the forum for the mod you are playing what "internal names" match up with what factions, though this is more of a problem with "total conversion" mods.

    Yeah I thought that might be the case.
    Tried both the standard names and TLR like Ducato di Milán but couldn't get the diplomatic_stance to work. It didn't recognize the command I think it said.

    Today I will try the force_diplomacy accept. Any particular time I should write it, like when I'm actually have the dip-scroll open, or anytime before the next diplomatic negotiations?
