Thread: Rebels have assassins?

Okay, this is weird. I was playing as the Byz/Early/Easy/etc. Anyway, I had assassins entering my provinces all the time, and getting caught. When it listed the probable source of the assassins, one of the sources was listed as "Rebels." Now, I didn't know the rebels would build assassins. I thought Rebels (much of the Steppe, Navarre, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, etc.) were static, and the minor factions (Pope, Sicilians, Aragon, Novgorod) built stuff.

Has something changed? Or is this the result of a major/minor faction losing a built-up province to a rebellion, and now the rebels are pissed at me for some reason?

I've noticed this once and a while too. Could be a built up province that went rebel after a faction was eliminated etc... Have you been at war with other rebels, snapping up some excommunication free territory? I think that is when I noticed the assassins my agent caught were rebel. I kind of like it, no need for the rebels to be non-agressive and just waiting to be attacked.

I think that they can actually build them, since the rebels are considered as "faction 0". After all, if they can build troops, why not build agents as well?

Do the Mongols do ANYTHING? In a game I played (again, as Byz), I had Khazar. I beat them off in Khazar. They had one other province. For the next twenty turns, I didn't see them attack nearby rebel provinces or anything.
