Which mod?

Ok, just got a copy of Medieval 2 Total war.

What would be the best mod to use? Should be fun, and lots of action... =)

Stainless Steel is fun IMHO, so is The Long Road, although if I were you since you just got the game I'd mess around with vanilla a bit before trying any mods.

what is vanilla?

also, i have played Rome: Total War lots, and from what i have played of M2TW, its pretty much the same, (except for unit bonuses, etc)

Vanilla is the name used to describe an unmodded TW game (i.e. the game itself like RTW or MII, not any mods for it like EB or DLV) - presumably because vanilla is the most boring, plain flavour of ice cream.

Yo...Vanilla is one of the greatest flavors of ice cream with the only types better are those that are derived from its greatness (ie French Vanilla and Butter nickel )
