I like to tell myself that punk isn´t dead, that there´s still quite a lot of punk bands and that besides, punk isn´t as much about the music itself as the way of life, expressed through music. But then I go to London. Shittown! Everything sucked.
First of, where the hell is the fu*king culture!? London was just like any fu*king big European city, just different attractions and more Indians and Paqi´s. ONe thing I noticed with sadness, outside of every single bar in town there was a big crowd of hard-working englishmen enyojing a beer with a couple of friends. Now how the hell is thar sad you ask? Well, the reasons why they are outside are fu*king sad.
You can´t smoke in inside (an fu*king excellent idea, only idiots smoke) so instead the go outside to poison themselves and others. I was first delighted to see so many people outside until I realised that the reason for it was quite sad indeed. Also, I talked with some people, and it seems that even at pubs were a band is playing, llots of people go outside even if they like the music just to get a cig. Tragic motherfu*kers.
And the bands that do play. What the hell!?! They´re all like corny folk-rock or like WTF ever it is called, the annoying stupid brittish music that´s always got a violin and aöways suck and for some reaons 95% of the time a woman is singing (nothing against that, just wierd), what the fu*k I don´t knwo how ro describe it, but it sucks! Big time!
The only hint I got at all that London is (WAS!) the Capital of Punk was in the very very back of some shops you could find maybe a dozen Clash, Sex Pistols or Kurt Cobain t-shirts. That´s fu*king it!
I went to Madame Toussads or how the hell it´s spelled, and it fu*king sucked. Yes, I did recognise all the people, but what does that matter when they all fu*king sucks!? I don´t care about Pitt, Jolie, Timberlake or any of those incredbiel bad modern celebs. The only single guy in there I liked was Lance Armstrong (yeah, I fu*king watched every race of his Tour de France wins, more than most of his "fans" can say) and Vlad Tepes (funny guy). What I jsut really laughed at was the whole fu*king Spirit of London or soemthing. I know it probaly ain´t serious or anything, but c´mon on!

I should be saying that you shouldn't take london as what everywhere else in england is (it's not a lot like it), but tbh, you're right. we've been crying at our stupid, stupid government for years, and, because we're smaller, it has more affect on us than it does in the US.
