How do I sign a truce or make peace with an enemy?

I've been donating gifts of cash to my enemies and yes, it's increased the relations somewhat but no option appears to declare a truce in the Diplomacy screen!

Could it be due to the ongoing Crusade against my Capital City? Most of my enemies are Crusading factions (hence why they declared war on me)...

Ok, so you are an Islamic faction, with a current crusade against your city, and you are trying to establish a "ceasefire" with a crusading faction?

I am not sure, but I dont believe the AI will allow a ceasefire like that during the crusade, then on top of that, your reputation levels could be low, the faction you are different religions etc

if you really want peace, then let your capital go and the crusade will either take it, but fail in maintaining order allowing you a quick recapture or it will be called off. Then you can make peace and have your capital

If you really do want peace then I would suggest a mass migration to somewhere like Russia, completely eliminate the faction that holds where ever you want to go, allow the crusaders to take your cities from where you were originally and they should be happy with owning them lands. I do not think that they will want to completely eliminate your race, or will they?

If they do want peace due to wars with others/financial issues, if you keep offering them money in exchange for their whatever, they will offer peace and you can make truce even tho theres a crusade goign on.
