is there any way to cheat by using the ~ command and kill off starting family members? Also is there a way to instantly cause starting homelands to rebel? There probably isn't I just thought I could ask.

There is a console command "kill" used in the scripts, I don't know if works via console.
Btw: there is a lot of interesting ways to get rid of those "indeseables" without cheats
1-like sending them to your version f ww2's Eastern front* (in my case (romani-vs Arverni)), or a suicide mission
2-I've heard (but never tested) that you can turn an assassin's blade on a faction member
3-if a plague is raging, send them where it is
4-put him in a crappy ship, and launch it against a very large enemy naval instalation
*no offence to russians or germans meant.

I have tried but it never worked for me so i can say that it didnt work for me
so now i send them to krete to die on island fighting rebels with no way to come home....or if pirates get them first so be it, such is the will of Neptune
Sending a general into the Alps alone also helps.

Then the inability to assassinate your own people is a historical dynamic sorely missing from the game.Originally Posted by MarcusAureliusAntoninus

I miss this option too for my roleplaying.
Can't this be scripted or something like the Force Diplomacy mod?
Would surprise me if no one made this mod already.
Cheers
I think it was said you could Ctrl-click, Alt-click or something like that to kill own people.

Interesting...
Thank you bovi!

'If you want to kill this family member, click the 'Show me how' button'.
By the way, you can only kill your own agents. No family members (unsure about Generals though)

If you're Casse, killing a family member is easy. Attack anything with spears.

Only way I know is to set capital to some far off province and set taxes in your homeland to VH and no garrison. In 2 turns, they will rebel.Originally Posted by Khazar_Dahvos
