It IS f -ing awesome, pardon my swearing. But question to developer - is there any reason why in 970 there's no papacy? Is that because the papacy didn't come around until afer ther great schizm, when the only christian church (plain christianity) divided itself into two houses, catholic and orthodox?

EDIT - can this one day use that big map (which includes changes to north america) that has it's own mod forum at TWC?

The map I based this campaign on showed the Holy Roman Empire controlling Rome, as well as most of Italy, so I had to remoeve the Papal States or they'd just appear and start attacking the HRE.

Also this mod does use the Big Map mod (though it may not be using the latest version).

What if you gave them a 0.6 or higher relationship? Would that help?

    EDIT

I put the Papacy back in the 970 scenario. I'll try it for a few turns and see if the HRE attacks Pap., or the other way around. They have a 0.6 relationship with each other.

    EDIT

10 years later, (20 turns), HRE did not declare war on the Papacy or the Papacy on HRE. There have been some ex communications though (Scotland, France).

Sorry for threadnecro, but where exactly did the Papal States go in your modded scenario, if the HRE control Rome?

Yeah, I'm thick :P so please humour me, haha.

In 970 I removed the Papal States since the HRE controlled Rome. However I have found a way to allow the Pope to exist without the Papal States, so he'll reappear in the 2.3 version (as soon as I figure out why it keeps crashing).
