Yeah, the AI behaved quite well, all things being relative. The only things they didn't do well was: 1- Their cavalry looked like it was moving it to flank me and could have easily done so, but stopped and did nothing in stead. 2- Their infantry kept moving forward a little at a time but never engaged me, I had to do it. And 3- They charged their elephants through their own battle line...Originally Posted by paullus
Actually, it was a "Close Defeat". I was never able to catch up to those Syrian Archers and chased them around the map for about ten minutes until the timer ran out and the defender won by default. I then took a small army and auto-calc'd against Pefkolaos twice, getting him to retreat to Nikaia.Originally Posted by hrrypttrbst
I find myself thinking of the Roman civil wars and the east-west split, but I'm trying not to exactly recreate them with another nation. It is indeed nice when the AI behaves and you're able to have an actual sarrisa battle. Too bad I wasn't ever able to deliver the cavalry hammer to the sarrisa anvil.Originally Posted by Chirurgeon
Right now I'm calling them the Pyrrhic Dynasty and the Demetrid Dynasty (after Megas Demetrios)(though it seems like it should be Demetri-id). Once Pyrrhos conquers enough, I intend to restore the name "Arche Makedonia".Originally Posted by Olaf The Great
I've played about five years and I've lost one territory while gaining about five, so it will be slow to reclaim...
The Medians were fielding mostly Pantodapoi and Pantodapoi Phalangitai when I last fought them. Although, I tore down all of their regional MICs and spawned them L3 factional MICs in all of their towns when I restored all that territory to them. Hopefully, they will have at least some form of eastern army in the future. (Most of their current standing army is "slaves" that spawned when I gave them their towns.)
