Im playing a campaign as the Hayasdan on hard campaign, medium battles. Ive taken over most of my homeland provinces and expanded southward into some seleucid territories, right now preparing an invasion into the default seleucid capital as well as Seleucia and Babylon. As I moved my forces to the Eastern front, I took Phraaspa and set up base (I don't campaign in the winter, house rules)

Lo and behold, a spy on my western frontier (I hold the town next to the river to the north east of Antioch) shows that a stack of seleucid soldiers are about to attack my western provinces. As Im awaiting the next turn to hire some mercs and hopefully hold back this wave, I see the province to my south (bostra maybe can't remember the name) rebel to Sabyn. A full stack appears in the city, and the Sabyn attack the seleucid stack, whipes out most of it and then retreats to the city.

Now I happen to be allied to the sabyn so I immediately start giving them tribute so they won't attack, but also recruit some mercs and attack what is left of the seleucid army. I kill 4 family members (1 being the faction heir) and rout the remainder of the army. I try for a ceasefire with the gray death and am astounded that they agree to give me Mazaka in exchange for peace!

Of course they attacked the city the next turn, but by that point the Sabyn had succeeded in destroying their attacking army and are keeping them occupied in the Near East. I destroyed all the buildings in Mazaka and made back all the money I spent on mercs and then some...

My apologies for the random story but I had to share with some EB lovers who appreciate the twists of fate.
Its a great day to be the Hai king.
