    Hi,

I want to link groups of units to hot-keys on the keyboard. Problem is that I've lost my Shogun manual. I know how to move units together (by clicking on each one of them while holding down Ctrl) but its frustrating and time consuming to have to do this in the middle of an online battle. Be grateful if anyone could spare the time to help me out and explain how its done.

    thanks

Not sure you can do that, but I may be wrong.

Yuo can group units by clicking on them or their flags whilst holding down the CTRL key.

After that I usually select them again either by holding down CTRL and clicking on any unit in the group or any flag in the group.

Can't say I've ever missed the hot key system although I use it all the while when playing Star Craft and Tib Sun.

Select a unit. Next, hold down Ctrl while you select every other unit. When done, hit Ctrl-Shift-#. Ctrl-Shift-1 for example will make Ctrl-1 select that group later.

Note, that you can select your units both by clicking on their white info boxes at the bottom of the screen, and by actually clicking on the unit in the battle screen.

Another way to select units is to hit Ctrl-M to select all missile units (archers, musks, arqs), Ctrl-C to get cavalry units, and I believe its Ctrl-H to get all infantry units. Ctrl-A will select all units.

Remember, that a quick way of grouping units is to select those you want and then click on the 'group' button at the top, or press 'g' - this is especially useful for wheeling whole formations - remember to ungroup them once you've given your commmand, however, or bedlam may well ensue! (I know - i've forgotten and then ended up with all of my army in line formations etc.... lol)
