first come first serve is so much simpler

the other free factions are in the East so I'm willing to compete for the Kychacks.

Two questions (I am too lazy to check if that is covered elsewhere in the threads...) :

1 - the set-up is the same as the previous BC hotseat, yes ?

2 - How will battles be dealt with : auto-resolve or PvAI ?

If it makes things easier i'll take the ghaznavids, but for the love of god ramesses don't bomb me with you ghorids in the first turn. T'would be most unsportsman like.

Whether the Ghazni are AI or player I'll be looking to immediately make an alliance with them, I promise.

Plus, I'll guarantee on pain of expelling myself from the game my side of the alliance with everyone west of the Hindu Kush until after the Mongols have been dealt with.

Sounds like Ramses seeks to annihilate the Hindus in peace...

King Baldwin might have something to say about that

if I lose this fight I'll make it my sole objective to destroy theflax

I still think it should have been first come first served, why should a latecomer be able to take anyones faction away from them?

After three epics draws of Rock, Paper, Scissors I'll just concede and give you the Kypchaks EF. Enjoy!

I'll follow in ATPG's footsteps and take the Turkish Sultanate if nobody minds.

Guys, the official results of the RSP tournament:

Final round: (rules: if TF draws, he loses)

Aftermath: The Flax concedes anyways to be a good sport. Thanks TheFlax, you're a true gentleman!

Hey, thats not a problem, EF. It's just a game, but a lot of the fun comes from playing which faction you want. That's why I decided on a very neutral way of selecting factions, regardless of who showed up first.

But at the same time, I did favor you because you won 3 draws and picked first... it's only Flax's insufferable persistance that won the day, and his gentlemanly demeanour that saved your faction, upon my convincing.

It's nice to know that people here are willing to be flexible for the sake of fun.

As a matter of fact, I got Jerusalem from a very kind gentleman named PrinceOfTroy, because I wanted to try a different faction that might, I dunno, survive an initial assault...

I dont know what everyone's sweating about... someone was going to control the kypchaks, might as well be elite ferret.

He's asked me to sub for him and be nice to everyone, so thats exactly what Im gonna do. Just keep your agents out of his lands, and your ships away from my ports. No need to have naval forces anywhere near kypchak lands except for invasion purposes, so any such ship sightings will be considered an act of aggression. the northern part of the black sea is Kypchak waters only, no one else is welcome.

Offers of trade and discussions about our mutual territorial borders are welcome.

Guess it's time to open the official diplomacy thread. Give me a few more days to get things up and running, ok? This is my first time moderating and I'm still getting the hang of destroying AI spawn and using the console.

I will pm everyone and make an announcement when the game opens, could be less than a week from now. Could be tomorrow. I dunno.

Oy... you really had to cramp my style, didn't ya, Galain?

Sigh... well it's either Armenia or Sindh. And I won't ask you to take Sindh, because they are really... what's the polite term? Oh yes. Difficult to play. Having no buildings and all.

Just so everyone knows, the only AI faction in the game is now the Malikate of Sindh, so you pretty much wedged yourself into a corner there, Galain... Jerusalem claiming pretty much all of Syria, and the Turks and the ERE hungry for action in Armenia...

Should be a bloodbath instead of the originally predicted slow expansion game... whomever dies first gets to play as Sindh.

Oh please (rolling my eyes), it was all The Lemongate's idea.

I do notice though that this time King Baldwin is "honourable and magnanimous" as opposed to a "festering rat".

When one has played both sides of the same coin, one can see both sides of the same dispute.

Indeed we see why it was necessary to declare war on the Ayyubids to expand, and so forth. We understand your position a lot more now. However, that's a completely different hotseat, and I prefer to play each one as it's own seperate entity.

Some friends become enemies, some friends remain friends, some enemies becomes friends, and so on. And I will have you know that my official signature sent to the Turks read "the diseased rat, Leper King Baldwin" as a joke on myself.

I don't care who plays baldwin... when I found out he was a leper I couldn't help making fun.

One good thing though, is at least in Broken Crescent Baldwin has the chance to live and prosper to old age unlike his real self. I would imagine that a leper at the age of 60 or so would not have very many attractive body traits. ewwww!!

    Attractive body traits? HAH!

That is not for a true warrior to have. My body is so brutally scarred that I must wear a golden mask, not unlike Baldwin's own facial covering. To see my face is to see the face of Death himself.

All I care about is whether or not Baldwin is a man of honour and good soldiery. I intend to play him as exactly that.

Now that we nearly all set to go, can you update the first page and link the factions with their player? Though it's easy to do now, in time with more posts and pages, it will be hard to find the list on page 2 with a single click.
