    Hi guys,

    In battle_models.modeldb, Instead of designating a model to be for a specific faction, is there a none/any option to designate it to be the default model for all factions using a given unit name? Or is there a way to have a faction recruit, say, the 'slave' version of the unit? This would save me a lot of work.

    If you make a unit have the mercenary_unit attribute in the export_descr_units file then whatever texture you put under “4 merc” will be how the unit appears for everyone. It doesn’t even have to be the mercenary texture either. You could make the entry look like this for example:

    4 merc
    73 unit_models/_Units/EN_Lmail_Hmail/textures/EN_Lmail_Hmail_denmark.texture
    72 unit_models/_Units/EN_Lmail_Hmail/textures/EN_Lmail_Hmail_normal.texture
    50 unit_sprites/denmark_Viking_Raiders_ug2_sprite.spr
    1
    4 merc
    60 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Danish_denmark_diff.texture
    60 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Danish_denmark_norm.texture 0

    Then everyone’s version of this unit would have the Denmark texture.
