Map Editing - Which version of Photoshop

I'm looking to edit the Rome map for which I've read I need photoshop.

The trouble I have is that upon checking amazon I see there are dozens of versions of that software. Can someone advise me which version I need for modding purposes.

The cheaper the better of course!

I'm not a master but from what I know there is a wide varity that could fit yours. Othe world - guess and hope your lucky

Any version should do, if you're looking for free, try GIMP, it will work just as well as photoshop.

Thanks for that Squid. I've used Gimp before but didn't realise it worked for modding.

Any graphics program that can edit tga, and can use the dds plugin to edit dds files can be used to mod RTW.
