why cant i delete the installer from my downloads folder? vista

hi, i had to download this again as i got a new computer, its vista and in the downloads folder, the game is installed...after much arguing with vista security.

i went to clean out my downloads folder (as i had to get stainless steel, broken crescent again etc) because it was full of crap, but it wont let me put EB installer in the bin.

i'd rather not have that mammoth of a file just there for no good reason when the mod is installed, any help?

There is no reason why should you not be able to delete it.
Try using administrator account to delete this file.

Try to restart Windows and then delete it. I don't know Vista, but Windows has always been a bit finicky with releasing locks in previous incarnations.

i had the same problem. When i restarted my comp i could delete it.
(i trasfered it to another mas as well)
