Thanks. Well, I think I figured out the shield part. I made a skin that uses a bigger image that will give clearer details. Unfortunately it won't fit on the model properly so now that needs to be changed in 3dsmax as well.:(

Here is the problem I mentioned:

Because I wanted to add in a higher resolution shield I had put in a skin for a shield that doesn't match and I had to move that stick like thingy further up to make room for the shield. Could the model be fixed that it would accept this modified skin?

I don't know much of anything about skinning, but perhaps you could try making the shield smaller, like a phalangite's rather than a hoplite's? The real problem with vanilla Rome is that it makes no real distinction between hellenic and classical phalanxes.

actually, if you want the skins to fit well, just do one of 2 things:

1-do change model
2-change the size of the skin section. yes that will affect the fitting a bit.
otherwise, it's good.

I tried option 2. But the shield ended up looking of much more poorer quality then the rest of the model. It simply didn't do it justice. And also with the new skin I made it will be very easy to reskin the models with the Macedon and Greek colors as well.

I'd like to go with option 1. Especially since I want to add the same shield to archer model to but I will need the help of an experienced modeller as such changes are beyond me as I lack the means (no 3dsmax) and skills.:( I don't know if making these changes is a lot of work but if someone could find the time to help me I'd be very gratefull. :) It is the only thing I really need help as I plan to figure all the other things out for myself. :)

@Myrddraal. Thanks for the tip I will have a look then. :) But I will wait with the unit cards till I got the shield thing for both models sorted out. :)

Edit 15/05: Update: I got all the stuff I need to make unit cards. I even found templates for the unit info picture, though only for infrantry. Does anyone know where I can get cavalry templates?

Here is an update on my Amazon project:

I have made unit cards and unit info cards for the Archers, Horse Archers and Chariot Archers. They didn't turn out so well though because I had to make them out of screenshots. I have no rendering program. Does anyone know I can make easy renders without installing some big program like 3sd max?

I didn't make cards yet for the hoplites. I still need to get the shields sorted out. I still need a modeller to help me out with that like shield skin thing.

wow, thats really cool. Better them I could ever do. Even thow I don't do it at all. But could I make a suggestion? I've noticed they're pretty much all the same models but on horses and chariots etc., For the chariots you should make a differnt amazon drive it, like one without a helmet. Or two you could make the driver a silver-sheild hoplite. Just seggestion.
