Because I wanted to add in a higher resolution shield I had put in a skin for a shield that doesn't match and I had to move that stick like thingy further up to make room for the shield. Could the model be fixed that it would accept this modified skin?
I don't know much of anything about skinning, but perhaps you could try making the shield smaller, like a phalangite's rather than a hoplite's? The real problem with vanilla Rome is that it makes no real distinction between hellenic and classical phalanxes.
