Ok so I ordered anothe gig of ram for my computer and I was wondering if it not only improved performance during game but also loading times, correct? Anyways, thanks all for the answer ahead of time
True, in fact quite possibly the biggest difference you'll see in games will be with loading times when you increase RAM. Depending on what you started with. Huge leap from 512mb to 1gb, somewhat smaller from 1gb-2gb. Any more than that and you will not see any noticeable differance. It depends as much on the speed and latency of the RAM as the amount. You may find that throwing away an old 1gb stick and replacing with a faster 1gb will give you a bigger speed boost than adding extra RAM.
What are your specs at the moment?
We'll, I'm away from my comp right now, but its a vista, I know its got 1 gig ram right now (although it says) (816mb) otherwise I really can't complain, I play with full graphics during battle and little graphics during campaign mode. And there is little lag is battle, but ther is some lag in campaign, otherwse the loading times such is my only complaint, usually 2-3 mins
Vista is very memory consuming in my experience. On mine it uses about 400mb without a game running. Whereas on xp between 100-200mb. So yes you should see an improvement. I'd say 2gb minimum for Vista if you want to play demanding games on it (Total war games included).
