    This is pre-Christian, so no devil-spawn. At least not like that. Having said that, I'm not sure about left-handers because legionaries fight individually, but as a team, not like hoplites who essentially fight as one.

    the formation that the Roman Legions used was quite similar in principle to the phalanx of the hoplites. they did not fight individually. as for the second greave, well, a lucky thrust aimed at the other leg might do some damage, but it would be highly unlikely.

    I said they fight individually as a team whereas the phalanx fight as one. The difference being that a legionary is a self contained unit independantly mobile and a hoplite isn't.
