I should point out though that this part of Ireland isn't all Guinness & Shamrocks. And, while I'd like to make some sweeping statement about cultural diversity, the reality is that it's pretty much just a simulacrum of Scotland but with worse hair, and slightly better life expectancy

Yeah, the average life-expectance of a Scot isn't that high. Y'know, with all the skirt-wearing and running off mountains to find a cheese..nevermind throwing trees.
