Since Overknight has first right of refusal anyway I added the relevant part to the table already. The rest will be filled once we have the RBGs recruited and ready to be taken/refused.

Thanks for keeping track of this, Ituralde. It saves me a lot of work.
I just picked up a book to do some research on the Byzantines.
It's A Short History of Byzantium by John Julius Norwich. I picked it up from Borders for 18 bucks. It's not scholarly but it seems to provide a basic overview for those who don't want to do a graduate level reading list just to prepare for a game. For those who do want to do a graduate level reading list, I can provide some book names but I haven't read them.![]()
If this isn't the right thread for this, I apologize but we don't have an OOC thread at the moment.

I have the three volume version of that, and I suspect you have the condensed one volume (paperback?) version.
I'd recommend either, it's what I read before doing my Byzantine AAR.
Norwich focuses on the Emperors and the personalities and events surrounding them. For an indepth study of the army or civil structure of the Empire, you'd have to go someplace else.

Yeah, I have the "short short version". :DOriginally Posted by OverKnight
If I like it, I'll get the 3 volumes.
I figured it was a "quick and dirty" history but that is what I wanted. Just an overview for now. I did a search at my school library and there is a good amount of "scholarly" work that could be interesting as well. I might look at those when I have more time.
Let me know if you want a list...

I am making my sign up official. I would interested in the other family member if the few ahead are not interested.
I'm in.
I also have A Short History of Byzantium. It's a very good read a provides a nice overview of the Eastern empire. I really should get the original three-volume set, like OK has.

Getting in so late in the previous has me wanting some more...

I'll be happy with anything the game throws at me be it FM or RBG...

Thnx for the welcome guys.
I do have M2TW, just don't play it very often. Will I need Kingdoms to get M2TW to 1.3?

Nope just the patch that is linked to in the fist post. It doesn't alter the game at all but allows you to play saves that people with Kingdoms have played.
edit: the first post of the installation 'discussion thread' that is...

I think we were going to let AG play the princess. Of course we could all switch off. It will be like playing "pretty pretty dress up".

It would be great though. They area actual characters, live a long time and are an open palate when it comes to role playing.
