    Default Dirt

    Dirt

    They pound squares,
    On either side
    Disperse the morning exodus;
    Search to find trivial answers,
    Grovel for sustenance
    Counter the transaction,
    A cascade of faces,
    Bound to show heads and tails.

    The grey below,
    Cast across us
    In wordless ways;
    Darkness to the silence
    Of carburettor alleyway,
    Pass the faces to dimly disregard,
    Repress the notion,
    Beneath a mosaic of girders.

    A rainfall of tension,
    Down it comes weeping
    Upon the master;
    Rust the broken stacks,
    Smoke belches in racks,
    Vision to obscure,
    Overhaul the heart
    Prescribe an electronic pulse.

    Stroll towards every end,
    Doing the shoulder shuffle,
    With each step, the breath shortens;
    And from Fate’s hands
    Appears a silver platter,
    Turn away, it slips and clatters
    Memories filled with the ugly,
    As all slips into covert.

    Find the key,
    To this living dread,
    Open more than glassy eyes;
    Leave a momentary trail,
    The briefest glimpse,
    As it fades and burns up
    I know my soul’s innocence
    Can never be reimbursed.

    Some piously affirm: "The truth is such and such. I know! I see!"
    And hold that everything depends upon having the “right” religion.
    But when one really knows, one has no need of religion. - Mahavyuha Sutra

    Freedom necessarily involves risk. - Alan Watts
