Thread: Once again: Fixes

    Default Once again: Fixes

    Dear Forum,

I installed the fixes for 1.1 by and by: at the start of my campaign I had installed the “unit size” and the “missing sprites” fixes. A few days later I installed the “initial client ruler interlopers” fix. And finally, as I primarily thougt that retroactive fixes would crash my running campaign (now I know that I misundesdtood this factor), I installed the “traits” and the “client ruler script optimization” last tuesday.
During this time I played the same campaign, which I´m also playing by now.
    Now I have 2 questions:

    1) Is there a special sequence (order) to install those fixes or can someone disregard which fix to install first and in which chronology?
    2) In my provinces in Gaul the “client ruler” is working well; the created “Celtic Lesser Kings” got the client ruler trait in the provinces with type-4-governments. When a client ruler passes away, I´m going to destroy the type-4-government and build a new one… and I get a new governor with the “client ruler” trait.

In my last turns I conquered Sala and Luxus in Africa. In order to be able to recruit forrest elephants I built a type-4-government and I expected a Libyan General being generated with the client-ruler-trait. A Libyan General was generated in both cities, but he directly got the “interloper-trait”. I destroyed the governments and built up type-4-governments again (I moved the interlopers out of the respective towns, of course) – the same effect: interlopers were created.

    Any suggestions for my problem?

    Thank you
    Marcel

now that you mentioned it, i've got that problem once I've installed the client ruler script optimization patch too..

btw, this ought to be moved to bug report section.

Is there any chance to recover the game in the form BEFORE I installed the “optimization-fix”? Stupidly I have not made a backup-copy of the original data.

There is no need to do this. Whatever bugs in client ruler script you get with optimized version you will also have them in original 1.1 version.

You will have to wait for fix to remedy this issues ( and this fix wont be save game compatible so you will have to start new campaign )

Does this mean that there is a bug in regard to the African provinces and the client rulers work properly in the other provinces? If so, I can live with that. In case of need I build up regional MIC 5 in the African towns and then destroy the type4-government and build up a type2-government. The reg. MIC5 remains.
Is it sure that this bug does not relate to the optimization-fix?

There is no specific order for the fixes, no, with one exception. The new optional fix for the client rulers must be applied last.
