Installing EB 1.1

When installing Eb1.1, I see the following message: 'it is not recommended to install EB inside "Program Files" directory as it will cause problems unless you are using Administrator account when playing Europa Barbarorum.'

But where do I put it? Later on I am told to put it where RTW was installed, so i choose that but I am advised not to continue as apparntly your'e not meant to put it in programme files, so what do I do?

Move RTW from program files directory first and then install EB.

This is when you have Vista. Vista is a crazy beast and it is recommended that you install RTW in a directory other than program files.

I just installed it in program files with XP and haven't had any problems.

You may have a corrupt download...

Will getting rid of all traces of EB and starting again work? thats what im doing anyway.

After getting rid of Eb, I re-installed it but it jammed again at a custom battle map file, so i skipped it, just hope I remember not to go on that custom battle or I will surely CTD! DOn't think it will affect anything else though (fingers crossed)

You should run the validation after installing, to make sure you're not missing loads of critical files.

If I understand your situation correctly, you just don't have any historical battles to play with. The rest campaign and custom battle will be just fine.

Same thing happened to me. Until now I still don't know what is wrong with those files during installation.

Okay, here is my problem.

I have spent 6 hours trying to get EB 1.1 to work and am unsuccessful so far. Could it be I have a corrupt download?
I used Utorrent to download and when I reach the start campaign screen after choosing a faction the screen freezes and the game does not load. I have to reboot.

What is my problem? I disabled videos by doing the "-nm" at the end of the target. Is there something I am missing?

Also I have a clean 1.5 build or RTW, I am not sure what to do next except try and download another EB1.1 and hope it is clean.

Can anyone help?
