Thread: How to build a good Jihad?

Default How to build a good Jihad?

Just had a crushing defeat against the Spanish in Morocco. (I'm still on Egypt/Hard/Early).

They used the infamous Braveheart tactic-more of that in another post.

So the only really good response is,of course, a Jihad. I tend to keep only one Jihad marker at a time out of honorable war tactics.

But how can you improve what you get in a Jihad? ie the base units?

It was some time since I was doing anything on this so I don't remember everything for certain.

AFAIK the number of units if affected by the price of the JIhad (not certain) and the price of the units recruited (certain).

The quality of the starting troops is affected by the zeal (not certain) and of course the zeal affects the recruiting of the crusade/jihad.

So basically get those Alims to work
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

Imams will do the job better. Get the zeal up and you should see better results, Tony.

Of course, it's probably too late to advise this, as zeal takes a good 20-25 years to get up to Christian-stomping levels.

A shorter-term solution is to build heaps of:

    - Almohad Urban Militia et al (if you're Almo)
    - Nizaris et al (if you're a Gyppo)
    - Janissaries et al (if you're a Turk)

...and just dump them into your newly-formed Jihad.

That's what you get when you don't play for a while.

    You're correct of course.

Well, I had a reasonably good Jihad against the Byz ruler, from a 24% zeal Egypt. It was enough to send him packing.

But it really does take some time to build up zeal. A jihad should technically be available automatically in any province since it is the potential of every citizen , be he peasant or Prince, to fight in the Cause.

Yes offcouse, but sometimes the peasants don't realise their potential They allways need a leader, and in this case, a leader (you) with a cause...

Why aren't there any camels in the jihad? Or in the crusades??

Rest assured, pretty much every single Jihad I've ever launched as the Eggies has included a number of Bedouins. I do usually have to manually add them to the Jihad stack, however, as I've never known them to automatically spawn when one is called.

Might have something to do with that they aren't supposed to do that according to the files.
