unexpected use of crusades

Hi
I have seen, the spanians launch a crusade and they go throught my teritory. If a crusade army goes throught my teritory some of my soldiers are joining to the crusade (about the half, because the province was with high fanatismus).
Many turns after this there are launching attack against me using that my province-garrison was now low-numbered.
In one other game I see the french war in war with the germans, and they are launching a crusade to Finnland only to go throught the german teritoryes.

yup. just remember it can work both ways. let's say i'm the french and at war with the germans. sometimes i'll launch a crusade against the novgorods and start a war with them, just so i can run my crusade through the german provinces. fun stuff :)
