It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.
Knights of the Old Republic
Baldur's Gate series
Neverwinter Nights series
(coming soon) Mass Effect
Other than Mass Effect and Neverwinter Nights 2 (+MotB), there aren't really many RPGs that are graphic and gameplay heavy.
And just as a forewarning, keep Mass Effect copyright BSing out of this thread. We have a thread dedicated to that discussion already.
Lol when I first saw the title and read a bit i was like... whattt? Is the a new meaning to RPG(first thought was Rocket Propelled Grenade, then RPG Computer towers. lol) Anyways a good RPG thats gameplay heavy and graphical heavy. I kind of like oblivion, though i believe now its getting outdated. Ohh and another good game which may not be the best graphics in town but still has me come back for more and more is Dungeon Siege II

Good RPGs with old graphics:
Fallout
Fallout 2
Planescape Torment
Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 (and expansion packs)
Good RPGs with moderate graphics:
Vampire: Bloodlines
Morrowind
Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2
Neverwinter Nights 1, but only with the expansion packs.
Neverwinter Nights 2, expansion pack highly recommended.
Good RPGs with new graphics:
Jade Empire
The Witcher
Mass Effect (from what I've been told, haven't played it)
I play a modded version of Oblivion. I wouldn't recommend the vanilla version on a bet because it is all show and no gameplay, but with the right mods the gameplay can be excellent. Key thing to know is that it has plenty of content, so content adding mods are superfluous.
Tincow pretty much listed all of the good classic RPG style ones. Oblivion should be thrown in there too, but has a drastically different playing style from traditional RPGs and even Morrowind to an extent.
I've found it pretty dissapointing that that small list there contains every top notch RPG in the past decade; I guess they just don't sell as much as other genres, FPS especially

Do yourself a favour and buy Anachronox. It's not a particularly pretty game (Quake 2 engine) and a bit old, but it has style. The art design really shines, makes the most of the graphics, and the real star is the scripting. Great story, great characters, a long campaign and plenty of memorable moments. Kept me entertained for ages, and it's an oft overlooked game.
