moved various Asteri armed forces towards Adana. The main army could not quite reach the Turks to attack them but will be involved in any attempt to storm the castle.

Tristan has a defensive battle. I'll PM him the save and he'll fight it and PM me the new one. The Turks have not assaulted Adana yet so deguerra does not have a defensive battle.

I just couldn't resist sacking Cairo... 18000 florins !!! I sure hope it will be manageable now...
Battle report due sometime tomorrow if all goes well... More losses than I would have wanted but those Mamluks sure are pests... If it wasn't for them, it would have been a walk in the park...
And save is still in the rebel turn so PK should have the scrolls![]()

Philippe 1er de Francein King of the Franks
Report for 1131:
We are now half-way through my term. I've rebuilt the economy, maintained the armies, gotten merchants to trade exotic goods, converted many to the faith, and built in almost every province. With your help, we now have more money to keep our armies maintained, and to keep financing improvements in our provinces.
Armies:
Emperor: Spear Militia and Archer Militia were retrained in Constantinople
Aleksios: Is still headed for Constantinople
Savvas: The rest of his army is headed towards Kalameteros
Kantakouzinos: Him and his army is headed for Diyarbakir
Buildings:
Aleppo, Adana, Tbilisi, and Nicaea all started Land Clearance
Sinop started a Grain Market
Iconion and Yeravan started Ports
Thebes started a small chapel
Bucharest started Wooden Walls
Foreign Affairs:
We sold maps to Poland for 2000 florins
The HRE are still the strongest Kingdom around
Turks have sieged Damascus
I have been sending spies on missions. It made the Thieves Guild notice us. They have sent a Spymaster to liaise with the Emperor.
Domestic Affairs:
Cairo sallied against Methodios. He beat the rebels and took the city. Reports are coming in that the city was sacked. I'll leave it up to the Senate to decide whether the act was legal. Since the Crusade is over, it is debatable whether Cairo was any longer a Crusade target. Regardless, the money is there and needs to be spent. The sum was 18000 florins and it is already in the treasury. Before I get flooded with "advice" on how to spend the money, I already plan to spend it on expensive improvements that I have had to keep waiting. Constantinople, Thessalonica, and Athens all need bigger walls and I will approve those improvements when I sign off on expenditures this year.
Because Kalameteros moved his army in to support Adana, the Turkish army paused and has not assaulted yet.
Permissions:
As always, if it is not listed, you can not move it.
Kalameteros can move the peasant archers in the Iconion province. And the peasants and town militia in the Adana Province.
Pavlos can move the Byzantine Cavalry in the Yeravan Province.
Armatos can move the spy that is in Antioch. If he attacks the Turkish army first, he can break their siege. Which will allow our spy to infiltrate Damascus before Armatos sieges it.
Stavros can move the Order's Crusade Army. This is in 3 seperate "stacks." One stack is the Great Cross in Cairo Province. Another is the 6 infantry in the east edge of Cairo province. And the last is the 2 cavalry that are at the east edge of Alexandria Province.
Methodios can move his 5 units which are right next to the city of Cairo. Also, the Swordsmaster's Guild wishes to establish itself in Cairo. I would like Methodios's thoughts on this before I consider accepting. He can not accept the offer himself but he can deny it.
Annios can move the 3 units that are currently with him in the Alexandria Province.
Miscellaneous:
OOC: I moved avatars for Rowan, Kag, and NN according to their wishes. I also moved Motep into Constantinople since it seemed like he wanted his avatar in there and his SOT gives me permission to move him.
OOC: There are a couple battles this turn. I will take the save back sometime tomorrow. If you need more time, let me know.

Moved Stavros and the Orders crusader units closer to Gaza. I was able to lay siege to Gaza with my cavalry but because of the hefty garrison I have decided just to sit outside and attack when I have all my units avalible.

Report for 1132:
Instead of being read in the Magnaura by Makedonios himself, this report is sent by letter to be read by an aid.
Emperor, Caesar, and Senators,
I am writing this report from inside a besieged city. The Templars have attacked. Fresh from being granted the Omne Datum Optimum from the Pope, they have decided to flex their muscle. Combine this papal bull granting the Templars privileges with the fact that the Turks walked right past Kalameteros and into Adana, the Catholic Crusading Order decided the time was ripe to attack us. The Templars and Byzantium are now at war. If I survive this siege, I will give them a war.
(OOC: During the Templars turn, they took their big army and besieged Antioch. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. Oh well, it's part of the game and should make for an interesting turn.)
Armies:
All armies are up to code and either have their units or their units are close by.
Buildings:
I took 12000 from the sacking of Cairo and started upgrading Constantinople's walls. The idea of the Fatimid's financing the defenses of the city they are going after holds some appeal.
The other 6000 was used to upgrade the walls in Thessalonika and Athens.
Sofia started communal farming.
Markianople started a church.
And Cairo started an Ikoner Studio. Spreading our faith to these people is a priority. They deserve something from us besides slaughter. The Swordsmith Guild has been denied because funds were needed elsewhere. But, a Merchant Guild has offered to set up in Cairo.
Events:
Sicily, England, and Russia all lost their leaders.
Isaakios has been married. May God bless their union.
The Turks walked right past Kalameteros and took Adana. Despite what Hypatios has done to them, they occupied the castle. (OOC: I know deguerra was assuming he would get a defensive battle but he was not close enough when the Turks assaulted. Only the garrison showed up on the battle screen so I had to auto-resolve it.)
As mentioned the Templars took advantage of this moment and declared war. I have submitted a plan to my second in command and the Order will strike back this year. I will shatter the Templar army and, God willing, will take Tortosa from them before you read my next report.
The Turks also took nearby Damascus.
Stavros's recon mission to Gaza was repulsed. (OOC: KP took two cav and sieged Gaza in order to build a ladder to use later. The garrison sallied. Because only a 2 unit captain stack was in the battle screen, and they would have lost bad, I retreated them.)
Despite all of this, we are the strongest Kingdom in the known world.
Permissions:
Annios can move his 3 units.
Stavros can move the Order's Crusader units and the spy nearby.
Kalameteros can move the peasant archers in Iconium province.
Methodios is free to give me his thoughts on a Merchant Guild for Cairo. As before, he can not accept but he can deny it.
OOC:
I moved Rowan and NN according to their wishes. Which is funny because where Rowan wanted to be then got sieged. So now Bart is trapped in Antioch with Mak. The Templars have been so peaceful for so long that I never expected them to do this.
LotR-1134
I'll probably take this in 24 hours. As far as I know, I have the only battle coming up and I am a little "anxious" to get it resolved. If people need more time, please let me know.

Arrived at Diyarbakir and laid siege to the Castle. It has some defenders and a largish captain led force is nearb. As a result our relations with the Sultanate have dropped to Abysmal, which I find a better mirror of my feelings for them anyway.
Ioannis Kantakouzinos arrived shortly after but was not able to set up his own siege yet.
I urge Machonios to join us in this siege.

I moved Stavros to besiege Gaza. The infantry then the cavalry joined up with him. The great cross is about a turn away but will arrive soon. Also I moved the spy just outside of Gaza so I could have a better chance of seeing inside without risking his life.
